WB Reportedly Considering Swamp Thing Movie

There was a lot of heartbreak when DC Universe canceled its Swamp Thing live-action series less than one week after the first episode of the show made its big debut on the DC streaming service.

The show was a big hit among fans and critics, taking in a 100 percent audience score and a 92 percent critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. Seeing how well received it was, fans couldn't understand why Swamp Thing was canceled. Warner Brothers still hasn't given a proper explanation behind the cancellation, however, trade sites indicate that the studio may have cut off the series because it just didn't fit with its plans for the WarnerMedia streaming service.

Now, as fans continue to mourn for the loss of Swamp Thing, rumors have started bubbling up saying that we may see the character again, this time on the big screen.

According to a report by Bloody Disgusting, Warner Brothers may actually be considering turning the Swamp Thing series into a full-length feature film. Though the initial report comes from We Got This Covered, Bloody Disgusting says that they themselves "can confirm the validity" of the news.

Of course, without any confirmation from WB, the rumor still remains as a rumor, though we're seriously hoping the studio makes the announcement soon. If proven to be true, it wouldn't be a surprise to see WB tapping horror movie director extraordinaire James Wan to helm the project. After all, Wan is the series executive producer of Swamp Thing. He's also brought good money to WB after delivering uber successful Aquaman into the DCEU.

For now, let's wait and see what happens.

Swamp Thing is airing its first and only season on DC Universe.
