It's been nearly ten years since the DC Extended Universe was first launched and as frustrating as it is to admit, the franchise has been having a hard time keeping up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, it looks like the DCEU will undergo some drastic changes with Warne Bros. Discovery David Zaslav at the helm and a new rumor suggests that there's still hope for the "restoration" of Zack Snyder's vision for the DC Universe.

According to DCEU scooper Syl Abdul (via Geekosity), Zaslav has no plans of hitting the reset button on the DCEU contrary to previous reports that a reboot is taking place after The Flash. Abdul claims that the SnyderVerse continuity will remain intact while completely ignoring Joss Whedon's theatrical version of Justice League.

It's an exciting rumor for sure but of course, it's best to take this one with a huge grain of salt. However, it's worth mentioning that Syl is known for dropping scoops that eventually came true, most notably, his report about Ben Affleck joining Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom so I guess he's actually reliable.

Obviously, Zaslav's commitment and ability to restore order in the DCEU have yet to be proven but there's no denying that his arrival could spell great things for the franchise. Hopefully, he's nothing like the folks who were previously in control and he actually has his finger on the pulse. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how he differs from guys like Walter Hamada and Geoff Johns.

That said, both versions of Zack Snyder's Justice League are available for streaming on HBO Max.
