Watchmen: Jeffrey Dean Morgan Puts on The Comedian's Mask, Teases 2020 Return

There is little doubt that the success of Watchmen is already making people hope for a second season. But what if we get a follow-up to Zack Snyder's 2009 film? Jeffrey Dean Morgan has just teased on his possible return as The Comedian in 2020.

Morgan recently shared a new photo on his official Twitter account and it features the Walking Dead star wearing The Comedian's mask. Check it out below.

"Gus found the comedian mask. Still fits like a glove. And looks extra extra with my badass bifocals. Here's to a masked comeback in 2020," Morgan wrote.

First of all, Morgan doesn't look like a guy who needs bifocals. Secondly, the mask appears to be in great condition although it's been hidden away for an entire decade. But what are the chances that Morgan will be back as The Comedian?

It's best to remember that the character was killed off early in the 2009 film so it's highly unlikely that he would be back in a sequel. Moreover, there appear to be no plans to work on a second Watchmen movie. We're not getting our hopes up on a sequel but we're crossing our fingers and hoping that there will be a second season to the Watchmen series.

For now, HBO has not yet renewed Watchmen for a second season although fans have been begging the network to continue with the series. Additionally, Damon Lindelof seems uncertain about Season 2. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
