Rogue One proved to be the best Star Wars prequel movie when it tied itself up nicely to the beginning of A New Hope, but Mr. Sunday Movies on Youtube has asked himself the question: “What were Luke and Han doing when the Battle of Scarif was going down?” That question has found itself an answer (sort of) with Rogue One: A Tatooine Story.
The video is just a simple edit of scenes from Rogue One intercut with what Luke, Obi-Wan, and Han were probably up to in Tatooine before they ran into C-3PO and R2-D2. It’s hilarious just how mundane Luke’s life could have been, what with Uncle Owen continuously pestering him about his chores — all this happening while Jyn and her friends are busy retrieving the Death Star plans.
Of course, the video is just all in good fun, and what is Star Wars without the fans weaving their own stories with the material? I think that’s what always set Star Wars apart from other franchises — it’s a giant sandbox where literally anything can happen.
