Watch: What if The Witcher was Made in the 90s?

Despite being panned by critics, the fans ate up Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher, and it’s probably one of the biggest shows to come out of 2019. What’s fun is, Nerdist has come up with this parody video that imagines what The Witcher intro would have looked like if it came out in the 90s.

We’d like to take you on a legendary journey back to the days of 90s high fantasy. In this newest Nerdist Remix, we see how “The Witcher” could have held the throne and dominated your tube TV. So, when the time of the sword and the ax is nigh, chaos beckons and destiny calls… TOSS A COIN TO YOUR WITCHER!  From the team that brought you “Spider-Man: Into the Multiverse” and “Captain Marvel - 1995”.

Immediately you can see some callbacks to shows like Xena: Warrior Princess, Beastmaster, and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. They even found a silly way to incorporate the line “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher.”

For now, the show has been greenlit for a second season by Netflix, and everyone is excited to see the dynamic between Geralt and Ciri. After an entire season of the build-up to them finally finding each other, everyone is waiting to see how Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia will handle being a father.

We don’t have a release date for the second season yet but catch the first season of The Witcher now on Netflix.
