Watch: This is Why Hollow One is Awesome in Magic: The Gathering's Modern Format

That card didn't see a lot of play in competitive Standard but it definitely has a place in Modern format, and Japanese Magic pro player Ken Yukuhiro just proved it on live coverage at the Rivals of Ixalan Pro Tour with his Red/Black Hollow One deck. Watch it here: 

As you can see in the clip above, the Team Musashi member played a Goblin Lore to draw four cards and discarded three at random. Since he discarded three cards, each Hollow One costs 6 less to cast, which lets him play two copies for free! That's two 4/4 creatures by turn 2, and the crowd (on Twitch chat) went wild! 

Yukuhiro's Modern record at the Pro Tour was 7-1-2, so the deck performed well. The 28-year-old Japanese player, who's known for running crazy decks like this, even made it to the Top 8!
