A long time ago, in a cinema far, far away, the Force awakened in a cheesy kind of way.
The 1976 trailer of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope has resurfaced online, and like many other trailers back then, the presentation looks weak and its cheesy lines are laughable. It describes the saga as "the story of a boy, a girl, and the universe...It's an epic of heroes and villains, and aliens from a thousand worlds." And it closes with: "A billion years in the making". It's interesting to see how trailers have changed over the past 40 years.
"A spectacle like years ahead of its time" - At least they got that right. Watch the 1976 trailer below:
