Watch: MTG Aether Revolt's Long Story Told in Just Under 10 Minutes

If you want to catch up to the lore of Magic: The Gathering, you will need to read a bunch of stories to get to the current storyline but if you don't have time to read them, YouTuber Wizard of Ozsvath has started a series of videos that sum up the stories behind Magic sets, and so far, he's already uploaded two videos: One that summed up the story of Kaladesh and another for Aether Revolt.

The videos do a fantastic job bringing up the actual cards to show us how they connect to the epic plot while giving us a visualization of the characters and places in the story. I remember Aether Revolt's story was pretty long but he managed to sum up the whole story in less than 10 minutes. Sure, the plot is oversimplified in this version so don't expect him to go in detail about the setting's imagery. His narrative style reminds me of how Luis (played by Michael Peña) in Ant-Man told his stories. Watching these videos will make you wonder why Hollywood hasn't produced a feature-length Magic: The Gathering movie yet.
