Watch: How Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle Should've Ended

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was a surprise hit, and with the sequel currently out in theaters, HISHE on Youtube has decided to release their take on how the first Jumanji reboot/sequel should have ended.

I’ll be honest, I was a big fan of the Robin Williams Jumanji, and though it was successful, I didn’t really think much of Welcome to the Jungle. I mean, I guess it’s fun that the game gets ‘upgraded’ to be a retro video game, but it doesn’t really have the same horror elements that made the original Jumanji as thrilling as it was.

And I like Bobby Cannavale just as much as the next guy, but why didn’t they bring back the Van Pelt from the original film? He was one of the funnier characters, and I would have been fine if they didn’t cast Jonathan Hyde back for the role.

If anything, Jumanji is a whole new franchise now, and the kids seem to love it, so I don’t really mean to grouse. I just think it would have been cool if Welcome to the Jungle had that same thrilling feeling that the original had, with the same amount of heart.

When Spencer goes back into the fantastical world of Jumanji, pals Martha, Fridge and Bethany re-enter the game to bring him home. But everything about Jumanji is about to change, as they soon discover more obstacles and more danger to overcome.
