Watch How Solo: A Star Wars Story Ended Up Looking So Good

It might have disappointed in the box office but Solo: A Star Wars Story seems to be getting some love from fans as an underrated movie. Sure, most of us would have rather seen what Phil Lord and Christopher Miller had planned for the movie, but Ron Howard’s vision was far from bad. The movie was a fun ride with great visuals, which is probably why the movie has gotten an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects.

To celebrate the nomination, the effects team have decided to show how they made Solo a great-looking movie. The movie is a great looking science-fantasy adventure (because Star Wars isn’t sci-fi y'all) and it’s a shame that so many people decided not to see it. Then again, Disney and LucasFilm could have done a better job with advertising the movie and reports about directors leaving and actors needing to acting classes didn’t help.

Maybe the Oscar nomination will land the film some Blu-Ray buys or rents since viewers are always curious about movies that might get the award. Granted, visual effects awards might turn off those that want a better story but we shouldn’t ignore how much work it takes to make CG in a movie look good, hence the BBC video above.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is available now on Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital services.
