Watch Star Wars Creator George Lucas Visit the Set of Game of Thrones Season 8

It was reported before that Star Wars creator George Lucas had paid a visit to the set of Game of Thrones 8, and now HBO has recently released a featurette that gives us a look at Lucas' visit and his little interactions with the crew on set.

Lucas' appearance starts at 4:04:

It's not really clear what Lucas contributed to the scene, but we do get to see him talking to Emilia Clarke, who he's met at the set of Solo: A Star Wars Story. I guess it's also fitting that he should make the visit as showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are set to work on their own Star Wars trilogy after Game of Thrones ends. Maybe the two would like some advice from Lucas before they venture into a galaxy far far away.

Going back to Benioff and Weiss though, it's said that their Star Wars series will focus on a story set in the Old Republic era. With the sequel trilogy having an emphasis for being kid-friendly, it's said that this Old Republic series of films will appeal to a more mature audience who are likely to get into stories pretty much like Game of Thrones.

No release window has been set for Benioff and Weiss' Star Wars, but it's likely Lucasfilm will release those films alongside Rian Johnson's Star Wars trilogy. Disney head Bob Iger has said that the franchise will be taking a small break after the release of The Rise of Skywalker, so it's likely we're going to get our next Star Wars movie sometime after 2021.

Catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters Dec. 20.
