Avengers: Endgame has come out, and while I think the film handles everything pretty well, just like every other film, it has a lot of deleted concepts and scenes that were left on the cutting room floor.
What’s interesting is, there were a lot of scenes that could’ve made it to Infinity War but were saved to be revealed in this film instead. For one, “Smart Hulk” was supposed to come in the end of the previous movie, but the writers had felt it would be weird if Bruce Banner had made peace with himself while everyone was down after the snap. If you ask me, his reveal in Endgame was probably one of my favorites.
There was also the discussion that the intro of the film with Hawkeye was supposed to take place in Infinity War as well, but they thought it would somehow blunt the intensity of the snap (seeing that everyone was in a war zone when it happened, and Hawkeye was with his family).
Probably the coolest revelation was when the filmmakers decided to make Tony Stark say his “I am Iron Man” line before he snaps his fingers. He wasn’t supposed to say anything originally, but since Stark is the master of quips in this franchise, it wouldn’t make sense if he didn’t get some “famous last words”.
All in all, I thought that Endgame was the perfect culmination of all 22 MCU movies. No one was able to predict how the whole film was going to go, and I think we’re looking at a different status quo moving forward.
