I think Team APS did a fantastic job breaking down each reason why people love trading card games, but I think he missed one: the lore behind the trading card games. Many players are also fans of the games' story, characters, and worlds that are represented in the cards. They give flavor to the themes of the games, and fuel our imagination when playing them. They're not merely just cardboard rectangles.
