Warwick Davis Confirms He Will Appear in Star Wars: Episode VIII

Warwick Davis played multiple roles in the Star Wars saga. He played as Wicket the Ewok in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. In 1999, Davis played a camedo at the podracing arena in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. In The Force Awakens, the dwarf actor returned to the galaxy far, far away again with a role as the alien Wollivian in Maz Kanata's cantina. It appears that he also has a role in this year's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Now we know know that Warwick Davis will appear in Rian Johnson's Star Wars: Episode VIII.

During a recent interview on the Australian television, Davis was asked about whether or not he would have a role in Star Wwars: Episode VIII, and here's what he said (via Jedi News):

"I do, yes. That's all I can say."

Of course, Davis wouldn't disclose details about his role if he wants a role in the Han Solo spinoff film or Star Wars: Episode IX. Most likely, the actor will have a small appearance in the film, and it probably won't feature his real face.

While Davis praised The Force Awakens, he teased what's to come in Episode VIII:

"There were some wonderful moments, some moving moments and it was full of all the action that we expect, so for me it ticked all the boxes, I loved it. And I think it sets up the trilogy very well. Obviously we're moving into the territory of Episode VIII very soon as well, and much like Empire Strikes Back I'm sure it's going to deliver some quite impactful story moments, and it'll leave us with some cliffhangers as well which resolve in Episode IX."

That's probably Davis just making an educated guess about what to expect in Episode VIII based on the events of The Empire Strikes Back, but the sequel will probably make shocking revelations about characters and explore uncharted territory.

Star Wars: Episode VIII will be released in theaters on December 15, 2017.
