Hong Kong is catching up in the entertainment field. Case in point, their newest sci-fi film, called Warriors of Future, promises to be a big hit. It's got the same storyline as the memorable Armageddon from 1998 with a new dilemma to face.

What Is Warriors of Future About?
The official synopsis reads:
“When a meteor carrying a destructive plant strikes the world, a suicide squad is given hours to save their post-apocalyptic city from total collapse.
The story is set in an apocalyptic near-future when a giant plant hitches a ride inside an asteroid to planet Earth, destroying everything in its path. But it also cleans toxins in the air, creating a dilemma for mankind.”
The Cantonese sci-fi movie follows a group of humans who are trying to prevent the earth's destruction by an incoming meteorite. The film is set in 2055 Hong Kong when pollution and global warming has already taken place.
A meteorite lands on the planet carrying an alien vine that helps reduce smog and other pollutants. Unfortunately, the vine also kills anything that comes across its path. It is up to the team to face an incoming meteorite that carries more of the alien vine.
When Is Warriors of Future Coming Out?
The movie actually made its theatrical release on August 25, 2022. After almost four months, the movie is now available for streaming on Netflix.
Warriors of Future sets itself apart from other Hong Kong films. For one, it has a big budget of around $60 million, which was spent to make the film. Even though it isn't nearly as much as the cost of an MCU film, its CGI is of the same caliber. The film took nearly three years to develop.
