Warner Brothers Takes Legal Action Against Trump And Batman Music

It looks like Warner Brothers doesn't appreciate President Donald Trump's attempts at relating with pop culture either, especially when he uses Batman music from one of the studio's Batman movies.

According to a report by The Guardian, Warner Brothers decided to launch some legal action against Trump on Tuesday night right after he retweeted a video featuring music from The Dark Knight Rises. The video was a fan-made two-minute video created for his 2020 re-election campaign and in it is Hans Zimmer's Why Do We Fall? theme from the Dark Knight trilogy installment.

Using the score as the background, the video plays the title card with the words "First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they call you racist. Donald J. Trump. Your vote. Proved them all wrong. Trump: The Great Victory 2020."

The post generated a lot of traffic on Twitter, and naturally, Warner Brothers managed to spot the tweet. A few hours later, the video was taken down from YouTube with the site explaining that Warner Brothers blocked the campaign ad on copyright grounds.

Warner Brothers released a statement regarding the issue, explaining that the use of Zimmer's music was unauthorized (via National Public Radio).

"We are working through the appropriate legal channels to have it removed," the studio wrote.

Though Trump, later on, deleted the tweet, copies of the video are still circulating on YouTube. On his defense, Trump's campaign team explains that the video wasn't made by anyone in the team but was made by a supporter.
