Warner Brother’s Managerial Shakeups Didn’t Affect Matt Reeves The Batman

Warner Brothers has been going through a lot of changes in its managerial structure ever since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League made their way to the big screen.

Not only was Toby Emmerich promoted to chairman to streamline the studio's senior management after Justice League failed to do well at the box office, but Warner Brothers also hired Walter Hamada as the Chief of DC films right after DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson decided to leave the company. Hamada also stepped in to help replace Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns who also decided to leave is position at the studio to focus on his comics.

However, while Warner Brothers has been going through quite a number of shake-ups, The Batman director Matt Reeves tells fans at a panel during the Television Critics Association's summer press tour (via CBR) that his film remains unchanged.

"From the beginning, what I had always spoken about with Warner Bros. and what I was excited about was, being in the Bat-universe and really doing something within that sphere. That was always what it was going to be so, in that way, it hasn't changed a lot since I first met with them. It's very much the same thrust if that makes sense. A lot of things have happened since then but the movie, and why I'm excited about it, is it continues to be the same inspirations and excitement of what we talked about in the beginning."

Reeve's comments regarding the state of his project seem like a step up for Warner Brothers. The studio has been known for interfering with their DCEU director's projects, stepping in and meddling with Zack Snyder's Justice League and turning it into the mottled superhero film that it is. Luckily, it seems like Warner Brothers has finally learned its lesson, trusting Reeves on The Batman.

The Batman doesn't have a release date yet but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
