Warner Bros. Brings Back The Looney Tunes With Massive Cartoonist-Driven Project

It looks like Warner Bros. is bringing back the Looney Tunes next year.

According to ComicBook.Com, Warner Bros. just recently announced that they'll be launching a new short-form Looney Tunes program to a number of screens in 2019. The Looney Tunes Cartoon is the studio's most ambitious Looney Tunes project to date. A series of new cartoonist-driven short-form cartoons, the series will feature iconic characters like Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, and Daffy Duck.

Each season will have multiple artists using a visual style that resonates with fans, producing 1000 minutes of brand new Looney Tunes animation. The series is to be distributed across a number of platforms including mobile, digital, and broadcast.

Each toon will vary from one to six minutes and length and will feature Looney Tunes characters in their classic pairings and "simple, gag-driven and visually vibrant" stories. A cartoonist-driven project, each short video will be "written" and drawn by the cartoonists themselves, allowing the individual style and personality to resonate in each cartoon.

"The Looney Tunes are one of the most beloved group of animated characters in the world" Sam Register, President, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series said. "Looney Tunes Cartoons places these characters into the hands of some of the best artists in the business and into an animated shorts format that will remind many of the time when they first fell in love with Bugs, Daffy, Porky and the rest of the gang."

However, while fans are going to get various cartoonist-based styles, the Looney Tunes Cartoons will be bringing back some of veteran Looney Tunes cast members including Bob Bergen from Space Jam, Eric Bauza from New Looney Tunes and Jeff Bergman from the New Looney Tunes and The Looney Tunes show.

The Looney Tunes Cartoons premieres sometime 2019.
