Elizabeth Olsen is marking her tenth year in the entertainment industry this year and it's amazing to know that she made it big in Hollywood under her own steam when she could've easily used her last name to her advantage just like other aspiring actors who are related to famous celebrities. This doesn't come as a surprise anymore but there are people who aren't aware that the star of WandaVision is actually the younger sister of the equally iconic Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
In fact, a lot of people are still stunned to learn about the Marvel star's ties to the Olsen twins who were a big deal in Hollywood back in the '90s thanks to their involvement in the iconic American sitcom Full House. As for Elizabeth, it turns out that the younger Olsen didn't exactly want to be associated with her sisters growing up and even went as far as using her second name "Chase" as her surname.
But it's not because she wasn't proud of her family name and what her sisters were doing for a living. According to the Scarlet Witch actress herself, while she didn't really see herself becoming an actress during her younger years, she still didn't want people to know that she's related to her twin sisters due to her own insecurities. In an interview with GLAMOUR UK, she explained: "I guess I understood what nepotism was inherently as a 10-year-old. There is some sort of association of not earning something that I think bothered me."
Elizabeth's perseverance and dedication ultimately paid off and now, it's safe to say that she's pretty much on the same level as her sisters if not more famous. Her desire to make it on her own in the crazy world of Hollywood is admirable and I gotta say, she's earned all the opportunities that have come along her way and I'm pretty sure the best is yet to come for her career as she closes in on her first decade in the industry.
Elizabeth Olsen will next star in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, hitting cinemas in 2022.
