Marvel is surely getting recognition with its expansion into the television scene as their very first series, WandaVision, gets a Grammy Awards Nomination for Best Song Written For Visual Media with iconic revelation song of the villain in the story, Agatha All Along, performed by none other than Agnes herself, Kathryn Hahn.
Recognition has been given to whom it is due and WandaVision will be Marvel’s representative for the Grammy’s this year as Agatha All Along got a nomination for Best Song Written For Visual Media. In a report from Variety on the nominees of the Grammy's this year, the iconic song of the villain revelation by Agatha Harkness herself, Kathryn Hahn, they secured a nomination and they can now vie for the Grammy gold.
“Agatha All Along” is dropped in Episode 7 of WandaVision, Breaking the Fourth Wall, wherein it is finally revealed that another witch in town is messing with things around and pulling the strings upending the quiet life Wanda made for herself in Westview. It features how Agnes, the nosy neighbor, turns out to be a witch dating back from the Salem trials, Agatha Harkness.
The song, albeit short, has a real catchy tune to it that it exudes the vibes of The Munsters or that of the Addams Family. It has a hint of something sinister, something quirky, something mischievous, and something troublesome which is perfect for the revelation that it was the nosy neighbor doing the evil stuff all this time. The song immediately went viral after the episode.
Kathryn Hahn, the actress portraying Agatha Harkness, actually did the vocals for the song and with Hahn not being known for doing songs, it makes her performance an extremely impressive one. Along with Hahn is Robert Lopez, Greg Whipple, Eric Bradley, Jasper Randall and Gerald White as the backup singers. It is written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
The song has been nominated in various award giving bodies such as the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards for Best Musical Moment, and 2021 Dorian Awards for Best TV Musical Performance for Kathryn Hahn. Recently, Agatha All Along secured Lopez and Anderson-Lopez the 73rd Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics.
