There's a lot of interesting things happening in WandaVision. After all, the highly anticipated Disney+ series is set to bring back Vision although the character was killed off in Avengers: Infinity War. But will the new Marvel Cinematic Universe show also introduce a character people have been hoping for? The latest set photos from WandaVision might offer our first look at the new Captain Marvel.
It has previously been confirmed that Randall Park will reprise his role as Jimmy Woo in the upcoming Marvel series. The new images from the WandaVision set feature the Ant-Man and the Wasp star but he also has an interesting new companion who might be the new Captain Marvel. You can see the photos here.
Park is shown being accompanied by Teyonah Parris, who has been confirmed to play the adult Monica Rambeau in the new Disney+ show. Monica was previously portrayed by Akira Akbar in 2019's Captain Marvel (Akira's sister Azari played the five-year-old Monica).
But is Monica the new Captain Marvel? For now, it has not yet been confirmed if she will be taking on the Captain Marvel mantle in WandaVision. Nevertheless, fans believe this will change if Monica shows up in Captain Marvel 2.
It was previously reported that Captain Marvel 2 has been greenlit and Brie Larson is still expected to return as Carol Danvers. However, there are speculations that the sequel will bring in Monica to take over as the next Captain Marvel. However, this has not yet been confirmed so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.
WandaVision is currently in production and is expected to premiere on Disney+ in December.
