WandaVision Receives Critics Choice Awards Nominations

WandaVision, the first MCU series that aired on Disney+, was a huge success as it received positive responses from both critics and the audience and it received numerous awards and nominations from different award-giving bodies. Now, it's almost a year since the series first aired, but the gift just keeps on giving as it received another batch of nominations from a prestigious award-giving body.

Last Monday, the nominations for the 12th Critics' Choice Television Awards have been announced. WandaVision was able to snag four nominations including Best Limited Series, Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for Paul Bettany, Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for Elizabeth Olsen, and Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for Kathryn Hahn.

Throughout this year, WandaVision was able to receive numerous nominations from prestigious award-giving bodies such as the Primetime Emmy Awards, TCA Awards, Directors Guild of America Awards, Gold Derby TV Awards, Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards, and many more. In addition, the song "Agatha All Along" recently earned a Grammy nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media. There are a few award-giving bodies left this year that haven't announced their nominations yet so we might be hearing more honors for the series in the next few weeks.

It is great to hear that the series is still getting a lot of love even though it's been several months since the final episode aired. It does show that the series really did ingrain the minds of the people who are voting for the aforementioned awards and they did like the show quite a lot. It is also rare to hear genre shows receiving this kind of honor and, hopefully, more people will start to take shows like this seriously as more genre content is set to premiere in the following years.

Even though WandaVision has already ended its run, the characters' journey will still continue in future MCU projects such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with Wanda Maximoff and The Marvels with Monica Rambeau. It has also been reported recently that a spinoff series is currently in the works that will focus on Agatha Harkness with Hahn set to reprise the role.
