Most people believe that Thanos is the most powerful villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe right now. However, it looks like the Mad Titan may have been dethroned by a witch. If Agatha Harkness is stronger than Scarlet Witch in WandaVision, could she be even more powerful than Thanos?
There is little doubt that dark magic is a dangerous thing and that's exactly what Agatha uses in WandaVision. Although she is initially introduced as Wanda Maximoff's friend Agnes in the sitcom, it is later revealed that she had been ingratiating herself to the Avenger in an effort to find out how Wanda created the Hex.
WandaVision also revealed just how powerful Agatha could be. She was able to drain the life out of her coven by reversing their spell that should have killed her. In addition to that, she manipulated Wanda several times, at one point even introducing Pietro Maximoff, who turned out to be Ralph Bohner.
The season finale also showcased more of Agatha's dark magic as she tried to take Wanda's Chaos Magic. However, she was ultimately defeated when Wanda tapped into her powers and became Scarlet Witch.
So does this make Agatha the most powerful villain in the MCU, even more than Thanos? It's important to remember that Wanda was the one Avenger who could have killed the Mad Titan in Avengers: Endgame if he hadn't tried to nuke her. In addition to that, the other heroes like Captain Marvel were able to disarm Thanos.
We're not sure if Captain Marvel could take on Agatha but for now, it's safe to assume that the witch is currently the most powerful villain in the MCU. That is, unless Scarlet Witch decides to turn to evil in the future.
