After years of back-and-forth drama between ex-spouses Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, their personal issues are finally going to be settled in court. This week, the trial for the defamation case the Pirates of the Caribbean star filed against the Aquaman actress has finally started. In a shocking new twist, Heard reportedly lost one of her allies in DC Films president Walter Hamada who allegedly testified against the 35-year-old.
According to a report from Puck News, the equally controversial executive was present for a "three-hour deposition" to discuss the actress' presence in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The same report says that Heard nearly got removed from the sequel over "chemistry concerns" with co-star Jason Momoa which has been an issue since the first Aquaman film.
She may have been brought back to reprise her Mera role in the sequel, but Amber apparently has internal issues with Warner Bros. and according to her camp, the studio didn't want her back in the DCEU due to her issues with Depp. As it stands, we've yet to get updates regarding the status of the trial.

It's going to be a grueling several weeks for the two actors and there's no denying that the court's final ruling will make or break their respective careers. As it stands, it's still hard to tell which of them has the upper hand but let's just hope the truth will prevail in the end. One thing's for sure, it's going to end pretty badly for one of them once the dust settles.
Meanwhile, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is now slated for release on March 17, 2023.
