Viz Media Now Owns the License of One Punch Man Season Two

While the manga is still going strong, anime fans have been impatiently waiting for the second season of One Punch Man. The first season was a stellar bit of superhero satire, with gorgeous animation and a wicked sense of humor, so waiting for the second season has felt like hell, to put it bluntly.

Though no release date has been revealed, VIZ Media did announce that they have secured the license for the show's second season. This is pretty appropriate since the manga is also under VIZ, though the announcement doesn't mean much to most since there is still no release date for the second season.

It's worth noting that the company did say they would showcase One Punch Man in the 2018 Licensing Expo from May 22 to May 24. Admittedly, this doesn't mean we will be getting some second season announcement but it would be a neat surprise if that were the case. As it stands, expect some of the manga and maybe a Blu-Ray of the first season to get showcased.

Saitama's ongoing adventures have been delightful for anime and superhero fans alike, so the lack of any real news for the second season hurts a bit. Still, it will be interesting to see how VIZ handles the season's distribution and if they will continue letting Funimation dub the show.

One Punch Man is a great anime and we can only hope a release date for the second season is on the horizon.
