Vincent D'Onofrio on Spider-Man Taking on Kingpin: 'Tell Marvel'

Though Kingpin is best known as a rival of Daredevil, he also has a very storied history with Spider-Man. Vincent D'Onofrio has been killing it as Wilson Fisk in Netflix's Daredevil, and here's what he has to say to fans asking him if he wants to clash with Tom Holland's Spider-Man:

As I said, D'Onofrio has been a fantastic Kingpin for Marvel Netflix, but I'm not sure how Marvel would handle a crossover with Spider-Man. Knowing this iteration of the Kingpin, he wouldn't hesitate to trap Spidey with a meticulous plan and just beat him to death with his fists. With the R-rated Punisher already having a hard time heading on Fisk, what more the kid-friendly Spider-Man?

It isn't outright stated, but there is also a clear rift between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the TV Universe. Though shows like Agents of SHIELD and Daredevil like to reference events and characters from the films—it has never happened the other way around. When it comes to crossing over the characters, it just feels like MCU as a whole doesn't want anything to do with TV.

Of course, we should look to the future for possible crossovers. Who would have thought that we would be looking at the Fantastic Four and X-Men coming to the MCU in a few years from now? Hopefully, Disney and Marvel Studios are cooking up a plan to bring the Netflix characters into the larger MCU. Iron Fist and Luke Cage have been canceled. What are the odds that Disney's streaming service is going to pick up those characters?

Catch D'Onofrio's Kingpin in Daredevil 3 now out in Netflix. Spider-Man and the Kingpin will clash in the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse this coming Dec. 13.
