People have been hoping to see the characters from the Netflix shows in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for some time now. However, we have yet to see Jessica Jones or the Punisher in the MCU.
But is it possible that the time has come for a fan favorite to finally get his MCU debut? Daredevil star Vincent D'Onofrio is now expected to return as Wilson Fisk in the upcoming Hawkeye series.
Fans have speculated about Kingpin or Matt Murdock will be showing up in Hawkeye after it was confirmed that Maya Lopez aka Echo is appearing in the Disney+ show. Since both characters are connected to Maya, it only made sense for them to pop up at some point.
Interestingly, a Reddit post confirms that D'Onofrio will reprise his role as Kingpin in Hawkeye. It was reported that Charlie Cox was initially set to show up in the series but needed to bow out due to scheduling conflicts. D'Onofrio was then asked to appear in the upcoming project instead.
This is awesome news considering that Wilson Fisk was an important character in Daredevil. Moreover, D'Onofrio has been eager to continue playing the villain after the show's cancellation. With that in mind, we're hoping the leak is real and that we'll be seeing Kingpin in action again soon.
Fisk is the second character expected to join the MCU. Cox has been reported to make an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. There are also speculations that Daredevil will play a minor role in She-Hulk.
