Vigilante doesn't have a lot of cast members. Despite this, it makes up for it by signing up some of the biggest names in the industry. Here's the cast of Vigilante.
Nam Joo-hyuk as Kim Ji-yong
Nam Joo-hyuk stars in Vigilante as the lead character, Kim Ji-yong. By day, he is a student training to be a police officer. On the weekends, he turns into a hooded vigilante who enacts revenge on criminals who have gotten away with their crimes.
If you've been keeping an eye on Joo-hyuk, you might remember him from Start-Up, where he starred with Bae Suzy and Kim Seon-ho.
Vigilante is a different role for Joo-hyuk who has often starred in romance Kdramas. With Vigilante, we'll get to see him in a new light.
Other Kdramas where you might have seen Joo-hyuk include Weightliting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, Twenty-Five, Twenty-One, and The Light in Your Eyes.
Lee Joon-hyuk as Cho Kang-ok
Lee Joon-hyuk stars in Vigilante as Cho Kang-ok, a second-generation Chaebol who is the vice chairman of DK Group. He is said to be a helper of the vigilante since he is a huge fan.
As an actor, Joon-hyuk has appeared in Three Brothers, City Hunter, Man from the Equator, and I Am Legend.
Yoo Ji-tae as Jo Heon
The vigilante is being hunted by detective Jo Heon, which is played by Yoo Ji-tae. Although the public sees the vigilante as a dark hero, Jo Heon sees him as another criminal on the loose.
After getting cast in Vigilante, Ji-tae bulked up to look like his character in the show. This will explain why you might see him differently after playing The Professor in Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area.
Ji-tae revealed to a media outlet that he purposely gained weight for the role. He shared:
"I gained 20kg to build the character's appearance and tried a new experience by increasing muscles."
This was complimented by Director Choi Jeong-yeol, who said that Ji-tae did resemble his character after bulking up:
"When he appeared at the meeting, I thought Jo Heon just came in, not Yoo Ji-tae. It was perfect, from his gestures to his hair and costumes."
Kim So-jin as Choi Mi-ryeo
Lastly, Kim So-jin also stars in Vigilante as Choi Mi-ryeo, a broadcast reporter who unravels the vigilante's secret. You may remember her from the crime drama, The King, where she played the role of a prosecutor. She won several awards for her role in this series.
