Because of its popularity, Attack on Titan has inspired numerous memes over the years. And the latest one might be one of the funniest as an Attack on Titan fan made a video that reimagines the show if it was animated by Toei.

Specifically, the video edits an iconic Attack on Titan scene if it was made in a similar style to One Piece and other Toei shounen anime, featuring lots of drawn-out reactions and action scenes with a hilarious effect.

Toei Animation’s Infamous Style

Toei Animation is one of the longest-running anime studios, with various well-known directors having worked for the studio over the years. These include legends such as Hayao Miyazaki and Leiji Matsumoto.

Though if you ask most anime fans, Toei is best known for working on a wide range of shounen anime, including globally popular titles like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Slam Dunk, and more.

While Toei has done these shounen manga titles justice, it’s fair to say that the studio is known for extending scenes to pad an episode’s running time.

Unlike seasonal anime which usually have breaks, most of Toei’s shounen hits are ongoing shows.

This means the studio has to extend the running time of an episode so that it doesn’t overtake the manga’s story.

This has resulted in some infamously slow-paced episodes, with fight scenes that are padded with drawn-out reactions, extended signature moves, and more.

Because Attack on Titan is a seasonal show, each episode didn’t need padding. Though a fan made a funny video that depicts the series in Toei’s style.

Recently, a video of Attack on Titan’s popular Levi vs. the Beast Titan fight from Season 3 by Lamsheeper went viral on Twitter.

It’s edited to feature Toei-style reaction faces and extended moves.

It’s a fairly simple edit overall, but it does hilariously capture the style of certain One Piece and Dragon Ball episodes.

The video quickly went viral, with many fans thinking that it was an accurate depiction of the funny scenario.

Many were also caught off-guard by Zoro’s sudden yet fitting appearance.

Thankfully, MAPPA will still work on Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 4, so we shouldn’t get this style in the actual finale.

For now, there’s no word yet on a specific release date for Part 4, but it is confirmed to release later this year.
