Video Compares the Size of Cinema's Favorite Movie Monsters

Monsters and cinema are two things that go hand-in-hand, and Hollywood has had a storied history of all kinds of monsters big and small. Metal Ball Studios has this cool video which compares the size of all the more famous monsters from cinema.

Check it out:

The video starts out pretty small with the likes of Monsters Inc.’s Mike Wazowski and a Gremlin. The lineup eventually grows to include several other classic movie monsters like the Xenomorphs from Alien and the Rancor from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Just watching the movies, I had no idea LOTR’s  Balrog was tiny compared to Smaug from The Hobbit.

With Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse steadily building itself, we also get a size comparison of Kong: Skull Island’s new version of King Kong, which towers way above the original. Then again, this Kong still pales in height as compared to the likes of Godzilla. They did say that he was still growing in the films.

At the top of the list is Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back’s Exogorth—the giant worm that Han Solo hides the Millennium Falcon in. It’s 900m in length, and can basically swallow three full-sized Godzillas. That’s some pretty cool stats for a fleshc-colored whale muppet.
