Venompool Reportedly Making His Way To The MCU

Disney may have yet to announce its plans for the Deadpool film franchise now that the House of Mouse has completed its acquisition of 20th Century Fox, however, there are rumors going around saying that Marvel is planning to introduce Venompool into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to a report by We Got This Covered, sources close to Marvel say that Marvel is planning to bring Venompool (the alternate reality version of Deadpool where the Merc with a Mouth is combined with the Venom symbiote) into the MCU.

The entertainment news outlet's sources aren't sure what film Marvel plans to introduce Venompool in, however, if the rumors do prove to be true, odds are we may catch a glimpse of the character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Marvel is planning to explore alternate universes in the Doctor Strange sequel and so it would make sense for the studio to introduce Venompool in the next Doctor Strange standalone movie.

Alternatively, Marvel could opt for a slower route. The studio could lay the groundwork of introducing Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) into the MCU, and then introducing Venom (Tom Hardy). Then someday, the characters could meet, and viola, Venompool.

Right now, Sony holds the screen rights to Venom and a number of other Spider-Man characters, so Marvel would probably have to fix another deal with the studio before introducing Venom into the MCU.
