Venom: Tom Hardy Admits Signing On To Three Films, More SUMC Movies

We're still waiting for the first Venom film but it looks like Tom Hardy already has his eyes on the future. The Mad Max: Fury Road star has just confirmed he is signed on to a full Venom trilogy. In addition to that, he might also show up in other Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters (SUMC) films.

The latest issue of Total Film Magazine (via CBR) has an in-depth look at Venom complete with interviews with Hardy, Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, and director Ruben Fleischer. In his interview, Hardy revealed that his contract includes three Venom movies as well as the possibility of appearing in other SUMC films.

"I'm open to whatever you want to do with it. We've signed up for three of them. So it's very much an open case. We'll see what people's responses are to it. I think it's an awesome character. I love playing both of them. It's an amuse-bouche, and for Sony, it's the Venom-verse launched in isolation, as it were. We all prepped for it to be a standalone universe. So whatever Sony want to attach to it at a later date, it's a fulcrum piece. But let's see what happens when it lands."

Although it is unlikely that Hardy will suddenly pop up in Spider-Man: Far From Home, there are other SUMC movies where he could make an appearance. There are already speculations that the Dunkirk star will have a cameo in Jared Leto's Morbius standalone film as well as Kraven the Hunter. In the meantime, we'll have to wait and see how Venom does at the box office.

Venom will hit theaters on October 5.
