Venom 2's Tom Hardy and Andy Serkis Hopeful for MCU and Venom-Verse to Collide

As far as we know, the upcoming Sony/Marvel film Venom: Let There Be Carnage is not connected at all to the MCU. They haven't made any official confirmation yet that the Venom films will crossover with the MCU nor facing off with Tom Holland's Spider-man, but that doesn't stop the sequel's star and director to be hopeful for the two universes to eventually meet in the future.

In an interview with YouTube Jake Hamilton, director Andy Serkis was asked about the possibility of the Venom-Verse and the MCU colliding at some point in the future.

"Obviously at some point, those worlds are gonna collide," Serkis answered. "Big-time, they are, if we are so lucky as to get to make more Venom movies... But I do think there's more still to unpack in the Venom-Verse before we go there."

In a separate interview via ScreenRant, star Tom Hardy also addressed the possibility of the crossover between the two Marvel universes.

Hardy said, "Yeah, it's really hard because for me and the guys in the Venom-Verse, we came together under Sony and that's who we work for, that's who we run with, that's our team, you know? And obviously, we just look at it as creatives and say, 'Look at all of these things we could play with.' But we really have to establish ourselves as somebody that maybe they want to play with. Maybe somebody that belongs in that world first. And do you like what we represent as Venom? Is this established? Once it's established, we then have to continue our Venom-Verse. But at the same time, we will always [be] looking to campaign to play with that with all the brothers and sisters who are out there, do you know what I mean? Whether we can connect the dots, that's up to the constellations, and that's above my pay grade, but we would be remiss not to think about that when we're working on the material."

It is pretty clear that Hardy and Serkis are optimistic about the possibility of their Venom-Verse crossover to the MCU someday. Given that the MCU is now exploring the multiverse, it is not a pipe dream at all to see it eventually happen. After all, fans have been clamoring for Hardy's Venom to eventually face off Holland's Spider-Man. Serkis even hinted recently that we might see it happen in the future. As long as Sony and Disney will have a continuous good working relationship, we can see them discussing and considering the idea as it would satisfy their fans and, from a marketing standpoint, it would be a huge deal among the general audience to see the two franchises crossover.
