Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is coming out this Friday and fans of the hit anime are pumped to relive this story again, even if it's the same story that every other game has covered. Sure, starting from the Saiyan Saga and ending with the Buu Saga isn't anything new, and the trailers have not even bothered trying to keep things spoiler-free, but the fact that this is a semi-open-world action RPG makes things much more interesting.
To celebrate the game's Friday release, Bandai Namco has released a new "Vegeta" trailer, which is also the Kakarot launch trailer. We see Vegeta, as he witnesses the epic fight between Goku and Kid Buu. We then hear his inner monologue as a montage of gameplay footage is played, as he tells us why Goku is always better than him, even if he's a genius and his rival isn't.
If you've watched the anime, this speech isn't new to you but it's still well done. Since Vegeta's monologue does talk about Kakarot's past, having footage from all of the DBZ arcs makes it a fitting narrative device. While some fans might take umbrage with the fact that all these trailers spoil the game, this plot is more than 20-years-old and people need to lay off.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot comes out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this Friday, on January 17.
