Vampire Chronicles Will Have a TV Series

If you were disappointed that the only way we've seen Lestat brought to life was back in 1994 for Interview with the Vampire, then this bit of news will make you smile.

Paramount Television and Anonymous Content are partnering with author Anne Rice to bring not just one, but 11 of the books from Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles, Variety reported. It's also confirmed that Rice's son, Christopher, is already signed on as the writer of the series and executive producer together with Anne and Anonymous Content's David Kanter and Steve Golin.

Based on the statement from Paramount TV's president Amy Powell, the TV series will imbibe the ‘90s goth vibe that the novel series is known for. We'll be seeing Lestat, among others, fully-fledged and explored in the series.

"I'm thrilled beyond words to be working with Paramount TV and Anonymous Content—known for extraordinary cutting-edge series such as True Detective, Quarry, and The Knick. In this unique golden age of television, I couldn't ask for a finer or more passionate team to help bring my beloved vampire hero, Lestat, alive in a series of the highest quality. This is a dream come true, both for me and for Christopher and for the fans who have been asking to see the Brat Prince in this medium for years."

It seems like The Vampire Chronicles series will start off with Lestat and his origins to becoming a vampire. It will then expand into the different adventures around the world, with the books serving as the backbone just like it did with the movies from this franchise.

So far, there are no casting confirmations yet, but the deal is already set for TV. Are you excited to Lestat on TV?
