Valorant Gifting A Consolation Prize to Players Who Missed The Closed Beta

Riot Games gave fans the opportunity to access the Closed Beta version of Valorant, a first-person shooter multiplayer PC game set to release this summer, but for those who missed it, the developer is giving away a consolation prize when the game officially launches.

While many players were able to get closed beta keys for Valorant, may have had a hard time getting their hands on any since the beta opened last month, and now Riot took to the official Valorant Twitter account to thank players for their time watching and playing the closed beta with an "exlusive player card for anyone who's watched enough streams to be eligible for [the closed beta]." The company promised that "even if you don't get in", the player card will still be included in their accounts "at launch".

The Valorant player card features concept art of playable agent Brimstone saluting, with the Roman numerals for 2020 in the top-left corner and the "closed beta" crossed out. There's also a reference to Twitch in the top-right that says, "See you in chat".

Riot's gift is a nice gesture to players who helped to make Valorant a huge hit on Twitch over the past month. Players who wanted to get their change to get a Closed Beta key for the game were required to sign up for a Riot account, link their Twitch account to their Riot account, and watch drops-enabled streamers to get a drop containing a Closed Beta key. Thankfully, I was able to get a drop after watching various Valorant streamers for hours on Twitch. You can watch one of my streams below:
