A lot of people have been excited for Obi-Wan Kenobi's return on Disney+, but Investor's Day has confirmed that Darth Vader is also going to play a major part on the show. With no official promo material out yet, internet artist BossLogic has given us this Vader-centric mock-up poster for Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Check it out:
It's going to be very fascinating to watch how Vader will be depicted in the series, seeing that the latest version we got was a lot closer to David Prowse's Vader from the Original Trilogy. With Hayden Christensen coming back, we should expect some flashbacks of Anakin and Obi-Wan during the Clone Wars, plus moments of Vader inside his meditation chamber where he doesn't have to wear the armor.
Is it too much to ask for a battle-damaged Vader when he finally clashes with Obi-Wan?
For now, details are still a bit vague when it comes to the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. We know that it will take place between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, and it will also have Vader trying to hunt down Kenobi.
Though a lot of fans love The Mandalorian, it's episodic nature is kind of a pain to follow, and we haven't really gotten any ‘real' stakes until the last few episodes. Hopefully with Kenobi, we can have a proper serialized story, and we get to really delve deep into the psyche of both Obi-Wan and Vader and how they're dealing with the aftermath of RotS.
The Obi-Wan series release date is expected to hit Disney+ sometime in 2022, but you can catch The Mandalorian Season 2 now streaming. It will be directed by Deborah Chow. The Obi Wan series timeline will take place about 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith.
