One of Bleach's popular characters is Uryu Ishida. He is a friend and classmate of Ichigo Kurosaki and a Quincy living in Karakura Town. Uryu is also known for his mantle, which he wears even if it hinders his movements. In the all-out war between the Quincy and Soul Reapers, what are Uryu Ishida’s techniques?
As a Quincy, it is expected that Uryu has amazing abilities, but he is known for not using lethal force in battles and finishing his fights by simply incapacitating his enemies.
So, does that mean that Uryu is not a force to be reckoned with? Just how powerful is he?

What Are Uryu's Abilities?
Uryu is a master archer, which means that all of his powers and techniques are related to archery. He was able to increase his skill and power through Ichigo which guaranteed him great accuracy when using his weapon.
Below are Uryu's techniques:
- Path Control – He can curve the path of his arrows for better accuracy. He was able to fire three simultaneous arrows using this technique so far.
- Negation of Attacks – Once he fires his arrows, Uryu can pinpoint where the arrows can negate another attack. He has to charge the arrows with a huge amount of power and fire them directly at an incoming projectile.
Uryu is also capable of reishi absorption. This means he can absorb spiritual energy from the atmosphere and combine it with his spiritual energy to create weapons.

It has been shown that Uryu can collect energy faster in places with higher concentrations of spiritual particles.
He can also manipulate the energy and use it as an offense. He can reshape the particles to new bows and arrows, depending on what he needs.
Using this ability, Uryu can do two more techniques:
- Hirenkyaku – He developed a new variation of this skill that allows him to make a platform of reishi under his feet.
- Ransotengai – It is a high-level technique that lets Uryu use spirit energy to manipulate his body. This can also be used in paralysis.
Uryu is also considered a Ginto expert because he can use the spiritual energy stored in silver tubes.
The other skills that Uryu possesses are his exceptional intellect, expert swordsmanship, high-level proficiency in hand-to-hand combat, and improved spiritual awareness.

What Weapons Does Uryu Use?
Uryu’s spirit weapon is the Ginrei Kojaku, which is shaped like a spider’s web. This weapon allows him to utilize Heilig Pfeil, allowing him to fire 1,200 shots consecutively. He can also ricochet individual shots or fire a volley of arrows at one target.
From time to time, Uryu uses a reishi shield to help him block attacks. Although it was not meant to be used that way, the shield has been effective for him.
After the battle against Aizen, Uryu acquired a new bow which is smaller than the one he used before.
The new bow allows him to use Heilig Pfeil which gives him a great advantage over his enemies.
