Universal Studios Hollywood Temporarily Closes Down Due to You Know What

Plenty of public events have been closed due to the Coronavirus, from E3 2020 to the screening of Mulan and even WWE SmackDown. Unfortunately, more are likely to come, from Evo 2020 to WrestleMania 36 and so much more but we're still waiting for those announcements to come into fruition. However, one constant public event that will temporarily close is a major theme park; Universal Studios Hollywood.

Honestly, this news shouldn't come as a surprise since Disney also closed some of their major theme parks so it was only a matter of time. They made the right decision since people need to limit their time on the outside so this epidemic can be nipped in the bud. A spokesperson told Variety that the safety of everyone involved is the reason why the theme park is temporarily closed.

"The health and safety of our team members and guests is always our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution and in response to the guidance provided by the California Department of Public Health, Universal Studios Hollywood will temporarily close beginning Saturday, March 14. The theme park anticipates reopening on March 28 as we continue to monitor the situation."

Unlike a lot of closed events, Universal Studios Hollywood actually has an opening planned, which is pretty rare. The fact that it's still in March is also shocking since most people are basically contained in their houses until April or more.
