Uncharted's Amy Hennig Hopes EA Releases Visceral's Star Wars Game

When EA announced that Visceral Games would be shut down, many gamers were saddened by the news. Aside from the Uncharted-like Star Wars game that was canned, Visceral also worked on the acclaimed Dead Space series. Since EA is now focusing on online multiplayer games, Amy Hennig, the original writer for Uncharted 4, is hoping that the company releases the game, despite it being canceled.

During a lengthy interview with Polygon, Hennig revealed that she hasn't had one of her games released since 2011 and admits that it's killing her. Hennig left Naughty Dog after the company decided to change their approach for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, though she was happy to find out that the final product still had a ton of her material in it.

"I haven't had something published since 2011, and it's killing me. I worked on Uncharted 4 for two and a half years, and then I worked on the Star Wars game for three and a half years. A lot of the work, thankfully, lived on in U4, and we'll see what happens with the Star Wars thing."

Her comments seem to imply that EA is going to rework the Star Wars game Visceral was going to make and restructure it. Of course, the company did cancel the game after Visceral's demise but that doesn't mean the game can't be brought back with a different title. Hennig feels that she doesn't have many projects left, which is sad to hear, so hopefully, she can leave her mark on a new game that will actually come out.
