Uncharted Bids Goodbye to Mark Wahlberg

Uncharted is one of those game franchises that have seen an unbelievable popularity, more so now with the release of its finale, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. So when a movie adaptation was set in the works, its fan base all but exploded.

The sad thing is, it has already been five or so years since the movie had been announced. And there have been developments and setbacks that seemed to hinder rather than push the project forward.

The most recent setback is the fact that Mark Wahlberg, who has been tagged for the role of Nathan Drake, has confirmed that he is no longer with the movie project. Wahlberg confirmed this via an interview with We Got This Covered.

While it had already been an ongoing rumor since Shawn Levy finally sat as director following three director exits and started the casting search one more.

In the interview, Wahlberg did say that he is not attached "as of now." Whether or not he will be back in time for the actual production once it gets started remains to be seen.

He still has Patriots Day as of the moment (though it's more for promotion, since the movie will be premiering on Jan. 13, 2017. There's also the Transformers: The Last Knight, where he will be reprising his role from the fourth movie.
