Umbrella Academy Getting New Library Edition Collections from Dark Horse Comics

Umbrella Academy has been one of Netflix's biggest hits, thanks to some of the quirky writing and imaginative scenarios that we wouldn't see anywhere else (except a comic book). The series has also been great for Dark Horse Comics since older paperbacks and hardcovers are now hard to find and need to be restocked regularly, so the business is booming.

To show just how popular this series is now, Dark Horse has announced that Umbrella Academy will be getting the Library Edition treatment, which is usually saved for the company's best comics. The Umbrella Academy Library Editions will cover Apocalypse Suite and Dallas, both of which will come with a number of extras and plenty of new material.

Here is the press release from Dark Horse:

The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite Library Edition collects the 2008 limited edition of the complete first series, Apocalypse Suite, with the short stories "Mon Dieu!" and "But the Past Ain't Through with You," as well as an expanded 50-page sketchbook section.
Similarly, The Umbrella Academy: Dallas Library Edition collects the 2009 limited edition of the complete second series, Dallas, with the short story "Anywhere but Here" and an expanded 36-page sketchbook section. Both sketchbook sections feature work from Way, Bá, and designer Tony Ong.
The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite Library Edition will be available September 11, 2019. The Umbrella Academy: Dallas Library Edition arrives in comic shops November 13, 2019. Both retail for $39.99.

With the second season of Umbrella Academy expected to arrive in Netflix soon, these collections should be essential for fans of the series. Fans can stream the entire first season on Netflix now but, spoiler warning, it ends with one hell of a cliffhanger.
