TWICE will make another historic feat at the Billboard Women in Music Awards 2023.
Billboard launched the Billboard Women in Music Awards, which annually honors female artists — including musicians, producers, creators and more — who make massive contributions to the industry.
Billboard Editorial Director Hannah Karp penned a statement before the ceremony, expressing Billboard’s excitement to recognize female powerhouses in the industry.
"We're thrilled to recognize these groundbreaking artists across genres and generations who are defining today's sound - and paving the way for tomorrow's women in music," the director said. "With the inspiring Quinta Brunson as our host, this year's Billboard Women in Music Awards is going to be an incredible night.”
TWICE successfully became one of the awardees, and the girl group would set a new record no K-pop group has ever reached yet.
TWICE To Become 1st Artist To Get Billboard Women in Music Awards Recognition
On the magazine’s social media pages, it unveiled the list of its honorees and other details about the event.
TWICE, on the other hand, will become the first K-pop group to be recognized at the Billboard Women in Music Awards with Breakthrough Award. It is being given to those who successfully rose to fame in the music scene after “taking on a challenge.”
Following the announcement, the girl group’s agency, JYP Entertainment, released a statement to praise TWICE’s achievements so far.

"Following in the footsteps of previous winners like Idina Menzel, Tori Kelly, Maren Morris and Camila Cabello, TWICE has demonstrated its global influence as a K-pop artist," the agency said.
TWICE notably made it onto the list of top 10 best-selling albums in the U.S. with its mini-album, Between 1&2, in 2022.
The Billboard Women in Music awards in 2023 will be held at the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Los Angeles, California, on March 1. Details about its livestream are yet to be confirmed.
TWICE Scores 2nd Nod on Billboard’s Hot 100
Following the announcement, Billboard also released its Hot 100 list for this week.
TWICE’s single, Moonlight Sunrise, ranked 84th on the US’ main singles charts, Hot 100. It ultimately became the girl group’s second entry on the chart following its hit 2021 song, The Feels, which debuted at No. 83.
