Turns Out the Marvel Character James Gunn Would Isolate Himself with Isn’t from GOTG

James Gunn might have directed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and 2 but it looks like the Marvel character that the director would want with him during quarantine isn't part of Marvel's group of lovable cosmic misfits.

The spread of the novel coronavirus has been forcing lockdowns and quarantines. With so many people forced to isolate themselves at home, Marvel fans have to enjoy their extra time to discuss various Marvel topics and to binge-watch movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Taking to Twitter, Gunn decided to join Marvel fans by talking about all sorts of things about Marvel. Enjoying his time on social media, the filmmaker was asked to pick a Marvel superhero to act as a "quarantine buddy."

While most fans would assume that Gunn would pick one of the Guardians of the Galaxy, the filmmaker instead opted for the Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr) computer system, Jarvis (via ComicBook.com).

JARVIS might seem like an odd response given the Marvel Cinematic Universe's roster of heroes. Gunn could have chosen Iron Man. He could have chosen Thor (Chris Hemsworth). He could have chosen Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).

Instead, he decides on a computer program with artificial intelligence. Perhaps the filmmaker would rather have a computer system in his home instead of having a chatty hero. Who knows. To each his own, really.

Black Widow was originally set for release on May 1, 2020.
