Tuca & Bertie: First Look at New Show from BoJack Horseman Producers

The story of two 30-year old bird-women who live in the same apartment building.

Netflix had struck gold with their original animated series BoJack Horseman, and it looks like they want to try another spin on the ‘talking animals in an adult setting' genre. Check out the first look for Tuca & Bertie.

The show was created by Lisa Hanawalt, and BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg is credited as an executive producer for the show. Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong have also been cast as Tuca and Bertie respectively.

We don't really know what to expect from this show yet, but I have a feeling it's going to come out like a cross between Broad City and BoJack Horseman. If you've followed Wong's work, you'll know that she's a fantastic comedian. Haddish herself also took the spotlight last year when she voiced the character of Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi in The LEGO Movie Part 2.

I think BoJack Horseman is a fantastic show, but I'm hoping that Tuca & Bertie will be able to set itself apart. I mean, they're both basically shows about anthropomorphic animals doing human things; even the art style is similar. If this is an official BH spinoff though, I think a lot of people would be on board to check it out.

Catch Tuca & Bertie when it premieres on Netflix May 3.
