Korovin and his team congratulate Irina, who finally gets the recognition she deserves. Her flight to the moon is delayed until the team can check the effects the flight has had on her overall health. Lev too gets some recognition, and he's allowed to reprise his former role as a cosmonaut candidate, meaning that he can be the first human on the moon!

This is a bittersweet moment, however, as he will no longer be Irina's caretaker. Instead, Anya will be the only one with that role moving forward. Irina and Anya celebrate New Year's together, while Lev moves on with his own training. Of course, Irina has left her mark on Lev, perhaps in more ways than one. Not only is she still in his mind, but fans have also noticed his increased stamina; could he be turning into a vampire?
