Truth Seekers: Simon Pegg and Nick Frost to Play Ghost Hunters in Amazon Series

The world fell in love with the dup of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost with Shaun of the Dead, and it looks like the Cornetto Trilogy stars are teaming up with Amazon on this new series called Truth Seekers, a show about bumbling ghost hunters.

This is the official description of the show as per Variety:

Frost plays Gus, one half of a ghost-hunting, duo who team up to uncover and film paranormal sightings across the U.K. in the series. They stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers, and abandoned hospitals using an array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos and share their adventures on an online channel. Their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, terrifying, and even deadly as the pair begin to uncover a conspiracy that could threaten the entire human race.

Pegg will also star as Dave, a character about whom little is yet known. Further casting will be announced soon.

Though Pegg and Frost have recently been commended for their work on the film, the two had actually started out on TV. They both starred in Edgar Wright's Spaced before they moved on to work on Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End. Pegg also had this to say about the new series:

"Nick and I are delighted that ‘Truth Seekers' has found a home with Amazon Prime Video. We're looking forward to working closely with them and creating something very special. These are truly exciting times for television, and I can't think of a better partner than Amazon to accompany us on a return to the smaller screen."

Truth Seekers is set to run for 8 half-hour installments on Amazon Prime Video, and production is set to start this September. No release date has been set for the series.
