True Detective: Night Country marks the return of the crime drama after four years that felt more like forever.

True Detective: Night Country Sneak Peek

Although the teaser does not reveal the story, we know that the series will take set in Ennis, an Alaskan town, amid the coldest winter nights.

The first look establishes the tone for the production with the backdrop of Night Country, which was filmed in Iceland, showcasing a gloomy and wet atmosphere. On the trail of a mysterious disappearance, Detective Liv Danvers (Foster) dons a variety of puffy jackets to stay warm.

As previously stated, the clip does not show much, but we also catch a glimpse of Detective Danvers' partner Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis), a no-nonsense police detective.

When eight individuals who are employed at the Tsalal Arctic Research Station go missing, leaving no clues to their location behind, the investigators are called into action. But, to find the disappeared men, the two will need to come face-to-face with their own demons and get through their pasts before they can confront the present.
