With so many post-apocalyptic and dystopian narratives providing alternative images of America, it will be interesting to see how a dystopian Europe will be navigated. With its strong, evocative landscapes and mysterious puzzles, we can only hope that Tribes of Europa will follow the footsteps of other German Netflix originals, such as Dark.

Tribes of Europa Trailer
A month ago, Netflix released a trailer for Tribes of Europa. In it, we follow the three siblings who will be the show's main characters, as they navigate apocalyptic landscapes and discover a mysterious artifact. The trailer features a war-like tribe, not unlike the ones we've seen in other dystopian shows, like The 100.
However, there is still some technology here, in the form of vehicles, guns and, of course, the mysterious cube described as a "threat to all mankind." We don't know the nature of this threat yet, or even the reason behind the catastrophe that devastated this futuristic Europe, but it will be exciting to find out!
Tribes of Europa Cast: Who Will Appear?
We don't know much about the characters yet, but with the release date approaching fast, most Tribes of Europa cast members have been announced. The actors who will appear include Henriette Confurius (The Countess, Beloved Sisters), David Ali Rashed, and Emilio Sakraya as Lliv, Elja, and Kiano, the three main characters.
Other role allocations include Oliver Masucci (Never Look Away) as Moses, Melika Foroutan (Pari) as Varvara, and Alain Blazevic as Crimson. James Faulkner (Randyll Tarly from Game of Thrones), Adam Vacula, Ana Ularu, Sarah Bauerett, Christopher Rygh, and Kendrick Ong will also appear.
Tribes of Europa Plot: What Is It About?
Here is a short synopsis of Tribes of Europa:
"Set in 2074, three siblings set out to change the fate of Europe after a global catastrophe causes Europe to fracture into dystopian warring tribal micro-states who vie for dominance over the other states. Three siblings get caught up in the conflict when they come into possession of a mysterious cube."
Netflix has not released additional information about the plot, but more will likely come up as the release date approaches. For the time being, we can surmise that Tribes of Europa uses a recipe of well-known but still relevant and intriguing tropes, such as an apocalyptic catastrophe and its bloody aftermath, with young make characters carrying the weight of their dangerous world.
It will definitely be interesting to see how the politics of such a divided futuristic Europe will play out, and how the mysterious artifact will threaten the remains of humanity.
