Toy Story Fans Beg Disney To “Stop Milking” The Franchise With Fifth Movie

Disney may have lost its touch ever since the company began making live-action remakes as the films were always a hit-and-miss amongst fans worldwide. Perhaps in an attempt to take advantage of their already existing films, the House of Mouse is now planning sequels for multiple beloved animated films such as Frozen 3, Zootopia 2, and Toy Story 5.

While fans are on board with having another look at Elsa and Anna’s new life in Arendelle, and seeing Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde back on screen again, no single positive remark was received at the news of a fifth Toy Story film.

The Toy Story franchise began way back in 1995 when we were introduced to one of the most wonderful Pixar animated films. Once fans were convinced that Toy Story 2 would be the last time we’d heard of Woody and Buzz and the gang, Toy Story 3 debuted in 2010, which had the most solid ending to perfectly finish off the series.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Disney Plus Suffers From Shocking Drop of Subscribers For The First Time

The doors are fully open for Disney to come up with a new animated film, but it looks like the House of Mouse is not ready to let go of the franchise just yet. Toy Story fans, on the other hand, are not here for it, as they plead for the company to “stop milking” the franchise. Check out some of the fan reactions below:

Toy Story 4 interestingly showed another alternative ending for the departure of Woody from the gang this time, and though it also received mixed reactions from fans, the fourth Toy Story film earned $1.068 billion worldwide, which is $2 million higher than what Toy Story 3 earned in 2010. On the other hand, Lightyear, which is a Buzz Lightyear spinoff, was considered a box office failure since it only earned around $120 million at the domestic box office.

It is difficult to imagine how Toy Story 5 could magically top that, especially during the pandemic and amid the hesitance of fans, although this could be one of Disney’s attempts at reclaiming their subscribers, seeing as they have recently suffered a massive subscribers loss. I guess only time will tell what they have in store for these upcoming sequels.
